Fire Safety
Awareness and Prevention
Fire Awareness continues to be a big focus in Town, especially following two devastating fires in 2020. All residents and business owners alike are encouraged to take action to ensure their properties are well-tended to throughout the year, to prevent and reduce fires should they happen. The Town’s website offers information, resources, and tools on how to prepare your property to prevent fires from occurring and spreading. We encourage everyone to Be Prepared, Know What to Do, and Help your Neighbors.
The Building and Fire Safety department is accountable to perform fire safety inspections in commercial buildings throughout the town, establish the current fire danger rating system for the community, processes annual permits (including but not limited to those related to fireworks displays and pyrotechnics), and in enforcing the Town's fire codes as they pertain to fire related matters such as alarms and fire-sprinkler systems.
To the left you will find information on how to prepare your home or business to prevent fires, details regarding Stage I and Stage II Fire Restrictions, the National Fire Danger Rating System, resources on wildland fire prevention, steps to acquire fire-related permits, and amendments to Building and Fire Regulations.
